In addition to planning catechumenal formation and preparing ritual celebrations, there are many administrative responsibilities associated with the role of Christian initiation ministry coordinator. This Digital Institute will help new coordinators identify the many other duties included with the role as they navigate the ministry.

Whether you recently volunteered, inherited, or were convinced to assume this important role, the presenters will provide you with support and answer your questions.

This training will provide a collaborative vision for ministry, clarify common misconceptions about the RCIA process, and offer practical advice to address overlooked opportunities. The presenters will tackle team creation and formation, discernment, marriage and annulment issues, paperwork, collaboration with clergy, and more.

A basic understanding of the RCIA ritual text is a prerequisite to attend this series.

Recommended Resources

This resource will renew veteran coordinators of Christian initiation in their role and introduce novices to the many aspects of their work. It provides the vision of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, outlines the roles of the coordinator in animating the parish and forming the team, and presents catechesis as framed within liturgical prayer. Throughout The Role of the Coordinator in Christian Initiation, practical tips are offered to help the process flow smoothly in the parish. Pastoral concerns surrounding marriage and other issues are also addressed. In addition, a table is provided for a visual representation of the stages and periods throughout the rite.
