Our Virtual Workshops are conducted on Adobe Connect, a web-based online meeting platform. If you use a mobile device (phone or tablet), LTP’s tech team will be unable to assist you.

In this three-part Digital Institute, participants will receive practical ways to address catechesis accommodated to the liturgical year with child catechumens and their families. The presenter will invite us to consider ways, outside the confines of the classroom, that will bring the children into communion with Christ. Special attention will be given to dismissal catechesis, intergenerational formation, and ministry to parents and guardians. Participants will be invited to take part in training exercises that may stretch their understanding of catechesis in the children’s experience of the catechumenate.

Recommended Resources

This new resource recognizes and acknowledges that children of varying ages and states of faith formation undergo a variety of paths to Christian initiation. Using the rite itself, this book will help RCIA coordinators, catechists, and directors of religious education prepare children and their families to celebrate the rites of the Church and the sacraments of initiation. You will find: parish-tested models and sample sessions; appendixes on how to prepare and lead child catechesis, and how to celebrate the liturgical rites; answers to frequently asked questions, and a glossary of terms.

This comprehensive introduction to the entire RCIA includes commentary and ample space for notes for everyone involved with the RCIA to study, reflect, and prepare for the liturgy. The complete text of the rite is included, along with additional rites approved for US dioceses.

The Celebrating the Lectionary® series provides Lectionary-based catechetical sessions within the context of a basal catechetical program. By making the sessions in Celebrating the Lectionary® very short (about 10-15 minutes), we enable our customers to use a basal text curriculum program as required by the bishops, and to supplement that program with materials on the Lectionary and liturgical year. When used in faith formation sessions, Celebrating the Lectionary® keeps young people connected to the flow of the liturgical year and the richness of the Lectionary readings. Reproducible send-home pages are also available online for each Sunday and holy day of obligation that provide prayers, rituals, and activities that families can use to live the message of the Lectionary and celebrate the seasons of the liturgical year. Four books comprise the series, targeted to children from preschool-age and kindergarten to junior high.
